2008 Summer Insitute Group Four

Welcome Teachers and Students!

Update July 9, 2009: We are working hard to bring new and exciting things to ossabest.org, just added is the above picture slideshow of pictures taken by students on the island.

As participants in OssaBest, Students and Teachers from the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System have a unique learning opportunity.

Ossabaw Island is a 26,000 acre living laboratory. It was the first state heritage preserve set aside by the State of Georgia, and is used only for study, research and education. The recently established Barrier Island Observatory enables electronic exploration of the island. Summer institute provides opportunities for Students and Teachers to visit Ossabaw to collect scientific data, and electronically document their findings during sessions at Armstrong Atlantic State University.
